Two Canada Day parades and a family festival in Abbotsford

The city celebrates the nation's 147th birthday on Tuesday.

The Canada Day parade in Mt. Lehman starts at 9:30 a.m. and precedes the main city parade at 11 a.m.

Abbotsford celebrates Canada Day with a number of activities, including the annual parade and family festival, both with a Beach Party theme.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. and travels west along South Fraser Way from Ware Street to Trethewey Street and Maclure Road.

This is followed by a family festival at Abbotsford Exhibition Park, starting at 1 p.m.

Activities include an international food fair, community displays, an artisan market, main stage entertainment, a craft activity, roving entertainers, mini golf and a birthday cake.

A fireworks display caps off the day’s festivities at 10 p.m.

Prospera Credit Union is the title sponsor for the parade and festival.

Also on Canada Day, the community of Mt. Lehman holds its annual parade.

The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. from the Mt. Lehman Credit Union at 5889 Mt. Lehman Rd.

Cinnamon buns will be available for purchase starting at 8 a.m., along with complimentary coffee or tea, at the Mt. Lehman Hall at 6418 Mt. Lehman Rd.

Following the parade, there will be cake and festivities at the hall.

Anyone who would like to participate in the parade by driving their car, motorcycle, tractor, bicycle, float or by walking or rollerblading is asked to meet at the credit union at 9 a.m.
