Two Abbotsford sports groups receive gaming grants

A total of $134,500 has been presented to the two organizations

Two sports organizations in Abbotsford will benefit from a total of $134,500 combined funding thanks to two community gaming grants from the province.

The Abbotsford Skating Club will receive $45,000 and the British Columbia Speed Skating Association, located in Abbotsford, will receive $89,500.

The grants were awarded under the sport category of the Community Gaming Grant Program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenue.

In the 2012/2013 fiscal year, the province distributed a total of $135 million in gaming grants.
