Clearbrook and Sandy Hill elementary schools partnered for B.C.’s first “school twinning” initiative on Friday (May 27) at Abbotsford Exhibition Park.

The two schools shared in some fun-filled activities as part of the Twinning of Schools program through the Abbotsford Building Connections Project.

The project is a partnership among the City of Abbotsford, the federal government, Abbotsford Community Services, the Abbotsford school district and University of the Fraser Valley.

Mayor George Peary said the Twinning of Schools program “enables students to meet peers from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds and provides them with a better understanding and appreciation for the diverse community that they share.”
