More than $2,000 in cash donations was collected through the recent virtual series Touch a Truck: Road Trip.

The five-part series replaced the annual Touch a Truck event held at Abbotsford Centre and ran online every Tuesday in September on the centre’s social media channels.

A total of 13 local businesses and organizations showcased 18 different vehicles, including a tank, a tractor, a fire truck, an armoured vehicle, heavy equipment and more.

Additionally, throughout the month of September, the Abbotsford Centre collected food and $2,053 in funds to benefit Envision Financial’s The Full Cupboard, which in turn goes to the Archway Food Bank of Abbotsford.

“We were happy to be able to improvise and deliver this annual event in a new format, as we look forward to hosting this event each year, while supporting key community initiatives such as The Full Cupboard and the Archway Food Bank of Abbotsford,” said Rick Comeau, Abbotsford Centre general manager with Spectra Venue Management. All five videos can be viewed on Abbotsford Centre’s YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.
