Three Rotarians, one from each of the Rotary clubs in Abbotsford, were named their club’s Rotarian of the Year at the recent annual Don Funk Awards evening.

Honoured this year were Andrea Lingren of the Rotary Club of Abbotsford, Kelly Railton of the Rotary Club of Abbotsford-Sumas and Vicki Raw of the Rotary Club of Abbotsford-Matsqui.

The three honorees were also presented a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship by their respective clubs.

The awards evening this year was hosted by the Rotary Club of Abbotsford-Matsqui at the Phoenix Lounge.

In addition to the awards, the evening included a presentation on polio by Joan Toone, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Victoria, a polio survivor and the president of the Post Polio Awareness and Support Society of B.C.

Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign is dedicated to continuing its quest to eradicate this disease in the world.

The awards, presented since 2007, are named for Don Funk of the Rotary Club of Abbotsford, who exemplified the Rotary motto "Service Above Self."
