Teams wanted for Environmental Mind Grind contest

The trivia-based event takes place April 7, testing participants on questions about climate change and more.

The Abbotsford Mission Recycling Program is planning to host the Environmental Mind Grind contest for Abbotsford and Mission high school students on Saturday, May 3.

Teams must be registered by Monday, April 7.

The Environmental Mind Grind is an academic trivia-based competition where student teams from different schools answer questions focused on climate change, energy, forests, transportation and air quality, waste, water, and species and spaces.

Students will prepare for this competition by reviewing the material in the contest study guide, which can be downloaded at acsrecycling.ca.

The winning team receives $1,500 to be used towards an environmental initiative at their high school.

Prizes will also be awarded to the second- and third-place teams. To register or for more information, contact the education co-ordinator at 604-850-3551 or recycling.education@abbotsfordcommunityservices.com.
