TB Vets recently donated $9,900 for the purchase of a cough assist machine at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

TB Vets has funded a new piece of equipment for the respiratory department at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

The cough assist machine is used with patients who are unable to cough and effectively clear secretions due to neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injuries or severe fatigue associated with lung disease.

The $9,900 donation was made through the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF).

FVHCF executive director Elizabeth Harris thanked the TB Vets for their "immense generosity and commitment to improving patient care."

"This donation is a transformative addition to our respiratory care capabilities," she said.

Dr. Lakhbir Jassal with donor relations said the gift not only represents a "significant advancement" in the hospital's respiratory care, but "also exemplifies the power of community support and philanthropy."
