Student's poster wins national Legion contest

An Abbotsford student has been named a national winner in a poster contest sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion.

An Abbotsford student has been named a national winner in a poster contest sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion.

Brady Tiessen won in the category of “junior black and white poster.” His submission will be among 14 winning selections displayed from June 2012 to May 2013 at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, Ont.

The poster contest was held at four levels – senior (Grades 10-12), intermediate (Grade 7-9), junior (Grades 4-6) and primary (kindergarten to Grade 3).

The contest also named winners for poetry and essay submissions.

In all, 100,000 entries were received from across Canada.
