Students organize and run Fair Trade Market

Event held Dec. 4 to 8 at St. John Brebeuf Regional Secondary in Abbotsford

Students at St. John Brebeuf Regional Secondary in Abbotsford held their second annual Fair Trade Market from Dec. 4 to 8.

During the week, the public was invited to drop by to purchase fair-trade items, such as coffee, jewelry and socks.

The idea was to educate the student population on how their everyday purchases hold power, and how they should be conscious of putting people before profits.

The students also listened to guest speakers, who further educated them about the fair-trade movement.
