A workshop on stress reduction takes place Saturday, Aug. 19 at Gladwin Heights United Church, 3474 Gladwin Rd.

The session runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The non-religious program is led by Ray Hill, who has a background in psychology and experience as a psychiatric social worker as well as over 32 years in the medical field.

Hill has been leading stress-related programs now for over 25 years, and has armed the many who have attended with tools to successfully cope with stress in their lives.

“We now know that stress is one of the major factors in disease and definitely plays a role in damaging of relationships,” Hill said.

Those interested in attending are asked to email their name and phone number to info@gladwinheightsunitedchurch.org or leave a message with their name and contact information at 604-852-3984 by or before 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18.

The church is asking participants to contribute a minimum $25 donation to cover costs. In exchange, they will receive a charitable tax receipt.
