The recent fourth annual Step Up 4 Cardiac Health event set a fundraising record of more than $24,000.
The money will go towards the purchase of telemetry packs for Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH). The packs are a portable heart monitor that is worn around the neck or waist or in the pocket of a hospital gown and can also be used for an extended period at home to track heart rhythm problems.
Step Up 4 Cardiac Health is normally held at Abbotsford Centre, but this year’s version, held on Feb. 27, was virtual. It was presented by Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service and Innovative Fitness (IF).

IF coach Kalena Morton led an hour-long virtual workout, and participants collected pledges.
Liz Harris, executive director of the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF), said the online event drew participants from as far away as Toronto.
“We are so grateful for the support from Innovative Fitness and Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service. Together they made it possible to host this event in a virtual format,” she said.
“To all our sponsors and participants, thank you. We could not have done it without you.”
The FVHCF continues to fund vital equipment and programs for Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH). The foundation also serves Mission, Chilliwack, Agassiz, Hope and Harrison Hot Springs. Visit fvhcf.ca or call 1-877-661-0314 for more information.
