Social work students hold 'community building' contest

The Bachelor of Social Work students at the University of the Fraser Valley invite Abbotsford youth to participate in a community building contest on April 1.

The Bachelor of Social Work students at the University of the Fraser Valley invite Abbotsford youth to participate in a community building contest on April 1.

Working in partnership with IMPACT, a local agency in Abbotsford, the goal is to raise awareness about mental health and what it means to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Youth are invited to use any medium such as painting, poetry, or a short movie clip that demonstrates what it means to live mentally healthy.

Entries must be submitted by March 28 at 3 p.m. The event will be held on April 1  from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Abbotsford Community Services, 2420 Montrose Ave.  Submit via Facebook on the “High School Contest” page, or email highschoolcontest@hotmail.com. Youth can also drop off their submissions at Abbotsford Community Services. Include name, grade, phone and email address. For more information, contact highschoolcontest@hotmail.com.
