Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF) has launched its 2016 Smart and Caring Grants Program.

“This year we have over $65,000 to distribute for projects or programs that help children living in poverty in Abbotsford,” said Susan McAlevy, executive director.

The guidelines and applications for the program are available on the foundation’s website at abbotsfordcf.org under the grants section. The deadline to apply for grants of up to $10,000 is March 30.

Last year, ACF distributed grants totalling more than $75,000 to eight different projects, including the Abbotsford Food Bank’s Starfish Pack Program, Fraser Valley Child Development Centre’s early learning summer camp, Abbotsford Youth Commission’s nutrition program, and the Devon Clifford Music Foundation’s band camp program.

ACF is raising funds through its Smart and Caring Campaign to build the community fund that is supporting the grants for charities providing services to children in need.

For information on how to support the campaign, visit the “donors” page on the foundation’s website or call 604-850-3755.
