Small projects to benefit from new program

Neighbourhood Spirit Small Grants Funds Program now accepting applications in Abbotsford

The City of Abbotsford, in partnership with Abbotsford Community Foundation and the Vancouver Foundation, has introduced a new Neighbourhood Spirit Small Grants Funds Program.

It will provide funding for small projects that help residents become more connected and engaged with their neighbourhoods.

“This program will not only support initiatives in local neighbourhoods but it will bring people together and strengthen their sense of belonging to their neighbourhood and to their city,” said Susan McAlevy, Abbotsford Community Foundation Executive Director.

“Whatever the project, the result will be stronger relationships that will serve that neighbourhood and its residents long after the project is complete.”

All residents and community champions with an idea to help support their neighbourhoods or increase the livability near where they live can apply for these grants. Grants will be offered in amounts from $500 to $1,000 and are available in four categories:

Community Connections

Neighbourhood Beautification

Child and Youth Engagement

Neighbourhood Safety
