SLIDESHOW: Gingerbread house contest a way to spread joy at Fraser Valley hospitals

Sugar and spice and everything nice makes a sweet start to the season.

Sugar and spice and everything nice makes a sweet start to the season.

And this season, Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) has put together a gingerbread house decorating contest for staff at Hope, Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Mission hospitals.

“It is our hope to bring some seasonal delight to the hard working team at each hospital,” said Liz Harris, executive director at the foundation. “This follows a successful pumpkin carving contest held in October and we wanted to help keep spirits up.”

The foundation made 80 kits available to all staff at the hospitals to decorate and display for all staff to see and vote for their favorite until Christmas Eve.

Some of the offerings are a candy-creation CT scanner in action and a pharmacy made of everything sweet.
