SCANDINAVIA CLUB

The Scandinavian Club of the Fraser Valley meets for its monthly potluck dinner at 6 p.m.. on Monday, Nov. 13 at the Masonic Hall (corner of Gladys and Pine). This month’s theme is Norway. LEARNING PLUS

Abbotsford Learning Plus presents two classes next week in its fall series. Both sessions run from 10 a.m. to noon at Abbotsford Recreation Centre (ARC), 2499 McMillan Rd. The topic on Tuesday, Nov. 14 is “Overdose Update and Information on Recognition and Response.” The topic on Thursday, Nov. 14 is “They’re Not Scary: An Intergenerational Dance Project.” Cost per class is $5, plus the $2 ARC drop-in fee. LITERACY MATTERS

Literacy Matters Abbotsford holds its annual general meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Community Aboriginal Centre, 3277 Gladwin Rd. Everyone is welcome.

WOMEN’S CONNECTION

Abbotsford Women’s Connection hosts a Holiday Fun Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 9:30 a.m. at Garden Park Tower, 2528 Clearbrook Rd. Karine Jesus will show some creative food and decorating ideas for the Christmas season and speaker Carola Meerkerk, singer/songwriter, will share a song and her talk about Never Giving Up. GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY

Novemberfest takes place Saturday, Nov. 18 at Bradner Hall (5305 Bradner Rd.). The event includes a traditional Bavarian buffet, music by the band S-Bahn, a cash bar, contests and prizes. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at Wilway Lumber or Davis Meats.
