A Drive One 4UR Community event takes place Saturday, May 25 in Abbotsford in support of Cares Counselling and Restoration Services.The fundraiser runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sevenoaks Alliance Church (2575 Gladwin Rd., behind West Oaks Mall). Ford Canada and the MSA Ford in Abbotsford will donate $20 for every test drive, up to 300, of a Ford vehicle at the event. That money will be matched by a donor, for a potential fundraising total of $12,000.  Krispy Kreme donuts and hot dogs will also be sold. The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship hosts its spring banquet on Saturday, May 25 at Garden Park Tower (2825 Clearbrook Rd.), starting at 6:30 p.m. Featured speakers are Merv and Merla Watson, who have been involved in the music industry and have traveled extensively in Europe and Israel for many years. Elizabeth’s Wildlife Center in Abbotsford will be the recipient on Saturday, May 25 of volunteer work performed by Telus employees as part of their annual Day of Giving event. A team will be on hand from noon to 4 p.m. to help paint cages, add gravel to the driveway, weed the grounds near animal cages, and clean up the site on Verdon Way.


A German sing-along takes place Saturday, May 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (corner of Ware and Marshall). Refreshments will follow.  Everyone is welcome. Info:  604-859-0822 (Anneliese)

A free information session takes place Tuesday, May 28 for the Skills Connect for Immigrants Program.  The session runs from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Community Futures office, #1 31726 South Fraser Way.
