DANCE  SHOW

Street Kings Academy of Dance will be at Highstreet shopping centre on Saturday, May 21 to present a hip hop freestyle and performance busking session from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is free or by donation to raise funds for 24 kids, teachers and parents to go to Montreal for a competition in two weeks.

BLOOD DONOR CLINICS

Canadian Blood Services holds two upcoming blood donor clinics in Abbotsford. The first is on Tuesday, May 24 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly, 3145 Gladwin Rd. The other is on Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Rd. To book an appointment, visit blood.ca

BOTTLE DRIVE

Grade 4/5 students at Harry Sayers Elementary (31321 Blueridge Drive) are holding a bottle drive from Tuesday to Friday next week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Funds raises will go toward Elizabeth’s Wildlife Center and homeless cats in the community. Info: 604-615-9015

SLEEP APNEA SUPPORT

The Fraser Valley Sleep Apnea Support Group meets Tuesday, May 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Independent Respiratory Services, 2111 McCallum Rd. Register in advance by calling 604-850-7778 or emailing abbirs@irscanada.ca.

GARDEN CLUB

Abbotsford Garden Club holds its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at Abbotsford Middle School, 33231 Bevan Ave. Janis Matson will do a presentation on “Adding Vibrancy to Your Garden Design.” Info: abbotsfordgardenclub.org

FAMILY FUN FAIR

McMillan Elementary (34830 Oakhill Drive) holds a Family Fun Fair on Friday, May 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. The event includes facepainting, pony rides, a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, games, a silent auction, a concession and more. All-play wristbands are $5 for children under five years old and $10 for kids five and older.

MOVE FASHION SHOW

The third annual Red Carpet Move Fashion Show, hosted by Chantel Funk Design Inc., takes place Saturday, May 28 at the Sports Legacy Centre, 3270 Trethewey St., starting at 7 p.m. The fashion show begins at 7:45 p.m. and is followed by an after-party. All proceeds are donated to the Women’s Resource Society of the Fraser Valley. Tickets are $25 general and $40 VIP. CAREGIVER SUPPORT

The Side by Side Caregiver and Family Support Group meets Saturday, May 28 from 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mt. Lehman United Church, 6256 Mt. Lehman Rd. The guest presenter will be a registered dietitian. A light lunch is served at noon. Info: sidebysidecare.org or 778-982-0489

FOLK CONCERT

A concert featuring Saskia and Darrel Spring is held Saturday, May 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gladwin Heights Church, 3474 Gladwin Rd. The duo performs music with Celtic, bluegrass, folk and gospel flavours. Tickets are $15 and are available at the church office or by calling 604-852-3984.

ALATEEN MEETS

Alateen, a part of Al-Anon Family Groups, is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking,  whether it’s a parent, sibling or friend. MOOD DISORDERS

The Mood Disorders Association support group in Abbotsford meets the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at Abbotsford Community Services (2420 Montrose Ave.). NAR-ANON GROUP

Nar-Anon Family Group meets every Thursday in Abbotsford at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3845 Gladwin Rd., from 7:30 to 9 p.m. This is a 12-step program for those who have been affected by someone else’s addiction.

EX-BRITS CLUB

DANCES EVERY FRIDAY
