SALMON RELEASE

Abbotsford Ravine Park Salmon Enhancement Society (volunteers) holds the annual Mother’s Day Salmon Release on Sunday, May 12 from noon to 2:30 p.m. This will take place in the 31500 block of Old Clayburn Road where it meets Stoney Creek. Children will be given pails of live coho salmon fry to release into the creek. There is no charge.

BREAKFAST TIME

A Mother’s Day breakfast takes place at Jubilee Hall (7989 Bradner Rd.) on Sunday, May 12 from 8 a.m. to noon. The event includes a buffet-style breakfast with sausages, scrambled eggs, fruit cocktail and all-you-can-eat pancakes. Orange juice, coffee and tea also included. Cost is $6. BAKE AND GARAGE SALE

The Trinity Memorial United Church Women hold a spring plant, bake and garage sale on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located at George Ferguson Way and Montrose, adjacent to the Abbotsford Downtown Farmers’ Market.

PLANT SALE

Mt. Lehman United Church (6256 Mt. Lehman Rd.) holds a bake sale and plant sale on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event also includes a SIDS fundraiser and a penny drive for “Jenna’s Journey.”

KOREAN CONCERT

The Fraser Valley Korean School hosts the 5th Little Light Concert on Saturday, May 11 at South Abbotsford Church (32424 Huntingdon Rd.). Tickets are $10 and are available at Abbotsford Little Japan, Boram Supermarket and Langley Hanareum Market.

SCANDINAVIAN CLUB

GENEALOGY SOCIETY

The Abbotsford Genealogy Society holds its monthly meeting on Tuesday , May 14 at the Clearbrook Library, 32320 George Ferguson Way. GARDEN CLUB

MAKE THE CONNECTION

Abbotsford Women’s Connection holds a “Fashionable Breakfast” on Wednesday, May 15 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Garden Park Tower (2825 Clearbrook Rd.). Fashion designs will be presented from Suzanne’s, and speaker Joy Cline speaks about her experience with depression in “My Search for Joy.”  Cost is $11. FOR SINGLE MOMS

A single mothers’ group meets in Abbotsford to support moms towards personal and economic independence.
