SLICE OF LIFE: March 30 – April 4

A concert featuring the music of Liselotte Rokyta and Andre Knevel on the panflute and organ happens in Abbotsford on March 31 at Emmanuel Free Reformed Church, 3366 Mt. Lehman Rd. 7:30 p.m. Info: 604-856-4184.



The Abbotsford Learning Plus Society holds two classes next week. Both sessions run from 10 a.m. to noon at Abbotsford Recreation Centre (ARC), 2499 McMillan Rd. The topic on Tuesday, April 1 is  “Growing Up in Wartime England.”  The topic on Thursday, April 3 is “From (and to) Asia with Love: Journeys in Japan and Mineral Exploration in B.C.” Cost is $5 per class, plus the $2 ARC drop-in fee. A presentation called “Newfoundland – A Wealth of Memories” takes place at Clearbrook Library (32320 George Ferguson Way) on Wednesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. Patrick O’Brien shares stories and photos of his trip to Newfoundland, an increasingly popular travel destination. Blankets for the Fraser Valley holds its monthly meeting on Thursday, April 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Fraser Valley Christian Centre, 31929 Mercantile Way. Everyone is welcome to help put knitted and crocheted blankets together for those in need in Abbotsford.
