FISH AND CHIPS

The ladies auxiliary of the Abbotsford Royal Canadian Legion (2513 West Railway St.) holds a fish and chips night on Friday, March 3 from 5 to 7 p.m.

BRIDGING THE GAP

Bridging the Gap: Transitioning from Youth Services to Adulthood is the topic of a session on Saturday, March 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Abbotsford Middle School, 33231 Bevan Ave. Learn how local community organizations assist families with moving from child and youth services to adult services. BUY THE BOOK

Friends of the Abbotsford Libraries host a book sale on Saturday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Clearbrook Library (32320 George Ferguson Way).

PTSD WALK

The Pacific PTSD Awareness Society holds its second annual PTSD 5 km walk/run at Mill Lake Park on Sunday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. The event is in support of first responders who are exposed to many elements that increase their risk for mental-health injuries, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PARKINSON’S SUPPORT

The Parkinson’s Self-Help Support Group meets Monday, March 6 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Matsqui Rec Centre, 3106 Clearbrook Rd. Physiotherapist Jason Moller will present exercise options. Info: Carolyn at 604-853-3772 or harcarkrahn@gmail.com

LEARNING PLUS

Abbotsford Learning Plus presents two classes next week in its winter series. Both sessions run from 10 a.m. to noon at Abbotsford Recreation Centre (ARC), 2499 McMillan Rd. The topic on Tuesday, March 7 is “The Global Rivers Observatory.” The topic on Thursday, March 9 is “Healthy Farmland: Walking and Farming on the City’s Edge.” Cost per class is $5, plus the $2 ARC drop-in fee. DIABETES GROUP

BUSINESS WOMEN

The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Abbotsford celebrates International Women’s Day with an event on Wednesday, March 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Phoenix Ballroom, 33780 King Rd.
