OLD CAR SUNDAY
The 20th Old Car Sunday in the Park family event takes place Sunday, Feb. 19 at Fraser River Heritage Park, 7494 Mary St. in Mission, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 1,100 unique classic and customized vehicles are expected to be displayed. Food, entertainment and kids’ activities are also included. The event is held rain or shine, with free shuttle buses running to and from the West Coast Express parking lot on South Railway Avenue to the show. The Glen Valley Watershed Society holds its annual general meeting on Wednesday, June 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bradner Hall, 5305 Bradner Rd. The society is a collective of residents from the Glen Valley watershed, which spans the border between Langley and Abbotsford, who are active in protecting the natural habitats around West Creek, Nathan Creek and Palmatier Creek. The Alzheimer Society of B.C. offers a free tele-workshop called “Understanding Behaviour,” on Thursday, June 23 at 7 p.m The session will explore strategies for determining what a person with dementia might be trying to communicate, and find ways to decrease the occurrence of concerning behaviours and respond in supportive ways. Light the Way at Tanglebank is an evening in support of the Abbotsford Hospice Society on Saturday, June 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. The evening includes a treasure hunt, comedy and magic with Perry James, music, a photo booth and a “fancy hat” contest.
