The MSA Museum Society and Abbotsford Arts Council are teaming up with event coordinators Pete and Robbie Zomar to present the annual Mill Lake Cruise-in on Saturday, July 13 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This classic car show is open to all specialty vehicles, with room for over 700 cars.  Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 300 entrants, and trophies and prizes presented to owners of winning vehicles. The day’s festivities also include food, a silent auction and live entertainment. The event is free and open to the public. Info: or


Clearbrook Library (32320 George Ferguson Way) holds a Welcome Summer Bash on Saturday, July 13 from noon to 3 p.m.  A magic show with the Great Smartini starts at 2 p.m. Parachute games, a bouncy castle and more are also included. Info: 604-859-7814.


Abbotsford After 5 meets Tuesday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m. for  “An Evening in the Garden with Wally Buono” at Tanglebank Gardens, 29985 Downes Rd. Buono is the general manager of the BC Lions, and he will share his experiences that have made him one of the most successful head coaches in CFL history. Music provided by Brent Ellis. Abbotsford Peer Support for Seniors hosts a picnic on Thursday, July 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  at Mill Lake Park (at the Bevan shelter). It is open to volunteers, clients and anyone wanting to learn more about the organization in which volunteers 50 years and older spend time with a senior who may want a visit and encouragement.  Training begins Sept. 24. The Fraser Valley Marketing Mastermind Group meets Wednesday, July 17 at Red 21 Playtime Restaurant (30835 Peardonville Rd.) from 2 to 4 p.m. Orientation is at 1 p.m. for new members.
