These are just some of the activities taking place in Abbotsford over the following week


An opening reception takes place Saturday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. for the Anonymous Art Show exhibit at Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.). Each piece in the show is on an unframed canvas of the same size, and the artist remains anonymous until the piece is sold. The B.C. Cavalier Fanciers – for owners of Cavalier King Charles spaniels – hold a get-together on Sunday, Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the off-leash Clearbrook Park, 3680 Clearbrook Rd. Info:


Story Time on the Porch takes place at the Trethewey House Heritage Site (2313 Ware St.) every Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. A variety of speakers share their stories of Abbotsford. Info:


A community summer social takes place Saturday, Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Trethewey House Heritage Site (2313 Ware St.). The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. and is followed by crafts, old-fashioned games, community booths, silent movies, a pioneer tea, an ice cream social at noon,  and a pasta dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Visit for the full schedule.


Circle F Horse Rescue Society holds a fundraising pub night on Friday, Aug. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Finnegan’s Pub, 33780 King Rd. The event includes a buffet dinner, silent auction, 50/50 tickets and more. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through Visit for more information.
