SENIORS' CLINIC
The Seniors’ Clinic at Abbotsford Regional Hospital holds a series of health talks in April. They are: advance care planning (April 4 at 1 p.m.), chronic heart failure (April 1, 8 and 15 at 2:30 p.m.), falls (April 11 and 18 at 1 p.m), pain (April 11 and 18 at 2:30 p.m.), making sense of medicine for seniors (April 13 at 10:30 a.m.) and sleep (April 15 at 1 p.m.). FOOD DRIVE
During April, Curves gyms in Abbotsford, Mission and Chilliwack will be among the locations participating in the 13th annual Curves Food Drive to collect non-perishable food and cash donations for area food banks. Current members who make a $30 donation or an equivalent donation of food are eligible to receive a Curves reusable Food Drive grocery bag. From April 4-17, Curves will waive the membership fee for new members who donate a bag of non-perishable food or make a minimum $30 donation. Info: curves.com
COOKIE TIME
Local Girl Guides will be at the Abbotsford Heat game on Friday, April 1 to launch the sale of their classic cookies. The chocolate and vanilla cookies are $4 a box, with proceeds supporting Girl Guides. The Heat vs. the Grand Rapids Griffins begins at 7 p.m. at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
FRIDAY DANCES
Dances are held every Friday at the Abbotsford Seniors’ Association hall, 33889 Essendene Ave., from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for members and $6.50 for non-members. The bands for April are: Good Vibrations, formerly Sentimental Journey (April 1); Shirley Rodgers (April 8); Johnny Hsu (April 15); Midnight Eagles (April 22); and Johnny Hsu (April 29).
GALA EVENT

STAMP SHOW
The Fraser Valley Stamp Club hosts its annual stamp show, AMPEX 2011, this Sunday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Abbotsford Collegiate, 2329 Crescent Way. Admission is free. Displays, traders and dealers will be on hand.
PARKINSON’S
