The Sevenoaks Walking Club at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre celebrated its 25th anniversary on March 14.

Founder and past member Irene Levens approached the shopping centre in 1993 to inquire about creating the club, after participating in a similar group elsewhere.

The idea was met with much enthusiasm and the Sevenoaks Walking Club was formed.

The group hosts holiday parties, distance incentives, educational seminars, weekly draws, and supports various charities including the B.C. Guide Dogs.

The philosophy of the program focuses on fitness, fun and friendships. With 200 yearly active members, there is always a lot of laughter and joy to be had.

Holding the club at Sevenoaks provides a safe and secure environment that stays warm and dry all year long.

Those interesting in signing up can visit customer service for more information.
