Session in Abbotsford on 'Keeping Students Safe'

The In It Together program of Abbotsford Community Services in partnership with W.J. Mouat Secondary School hosts “Keeping Students Safe: An Evening Presentation for Parents" on Tuesday, March 10.

The session runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at W. J. Mouat, 32355 Mouat Dr. and features Rob Rai of Safer Schools Together.

Parents and guardians of children and youth of all ages are welcome to attend.

The sessions will include:

– an overview of a violent threat risk assessment process for parents/caregivers and the role they can play;

– strategies for parents to support their child through a traumatic event; and

– warning signs that your child may be involved in a gang and what parents can do to prevent gang involvement.

This event is part of the Abbotsford Comprehensive Community Action for Gang Reduction project funded by the Youth Gang Prevention Fund through Public Safety Canada.
