A group of Yale Secondary Grade 10 leadership students organized a run/walk on the weekend, raising about $1,000 for Matthew's House in Abbotsford.
About 100 participants signed up for the five-kilometre Run for Rest on Saturday.
Students obtained donations, organized t-shirts and ribbons for the runners. A number of parents were also involved in the initiative.
Matthew's House is a new respite facility in Abbotsford for children with severe disabilities. Part of the Campus of Care near the Abbotsford Regional Hospital, it is due to open in mid-November.
