The Canadian Red Cross in Abbotsford is in need of client service volunteers for its Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP).
The initiative lends medical equipment to people in need, on a donation basis.
Clients must first obtain a medical referral from a health care professional to acquire the use of items such as canes, crutches, walkers and bath seats.
The depot is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day except Sunday. The Abbotsford HELP location keeps about 24 volunteers busy. Those interested in volunteering are asked to apply at #5 – 2316 McCallum Rd., call 1-855-995-3529 or email BCYvolunteering@redcross.ca for more information.
