A series of summer camps are being offered through the West Abbotsford Community School Society.

The Summer Slam camps are open to elementary and middle school children.

They include crafts, games, sports, and trips to places such as the Vancouver Aquarium, the Trans-Canada Waterslides and Castle Fun Park.

The camps run July 2-5, 8-12, 15-19, 22-26, July 29 to Aug. 2, and Aug. 6-9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Tech Camps also run for one week each, from 9 a.m. to noon, and are open to students entering Grades 4 to 8.

There are two different Tech Camps. One is called Game Designers, which teaches programming, problem-solving and the creation of a simple video game.

These sessions take place from July 15-19 and Aug. 6-9.

The other is 3D Animators, which uses professional software to help kids create simple shapes and character models.

These camps are from July 22-26 and Aug. 12-16.

All camps take place at John Maclure Community School, 2990 Oriole Cres. To register or for more information, visit westabby.org or call 604-859-6919.
