Funds raised from a charity event in Abbotsford on Sunday, Dec. 15 will go to Holmberg House and to the Canadian Red Cross in support of survivors of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
The “community open house” takes place at JRG (Joseph Richard Group) locations throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, including Townhall Public House (33720 South Fraser Way).
It runs from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $20, which includes a burger and two beers, with all proceeds going to charity. The event also includes entertainment, games at some locations, and silent and live auctions with prizes that include Canucks tickets.
Holmberg House is an adult hospice facility under construction as part of the Dave Lede Campus of Care on Marshall Road adjacent to Abbotsford Regional Hospital. It will be operated by the Abbotsford Hospice Society.
