PriceSmart raises $5,200 for cancer foundation

Six local PriceSmart staff members had their heads shaved last Friday as part of a fundraising effort that generated $5,200 for the BC Cancer Foundation.

Cash was also raised with a "Spin-the-Wheel"contest, a raffle for a Canucks jersey donated by Magnuson Ford and signed by Ryan Kesler and Cory Schneider, a hot dog and samosas sale, and donations from family, friends and customers, both online and in-store.

On hand for the head shaving were Rachel Mitchell, development officer special events for the BC Cancer Foundation, along with Gordon Stewart, associate director, major gifts BC Cancer Foundation.
