B.C. Premier Christy Clark was among a long list of dignitaries and local business leaders who came to honour long-time entrepreneur Dave Holmberg upon his retirement on Friday night.
Holmberg, owner of Bobcat Country Sales, has been an active community supporter for decades.
The roast, which took place at the Ramada Plaza and Conference Centre, helped raise funds for Holmberg House, an adult hospice care facility being constructed for the Abbotsford Hospice Society. More than 210 people attended the event.
Organizers have yet to tabulate how much was raised but did say it was a “significant” amount.
