A pop-up park takes place April 15 to 17 at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre for the city to present details on its draft Official Community Plan.

As tweaks continue to be made to the draft Official Community Plan (OCP) presented to council last week, the public will get their chance to take a close look at the plan and offer feedback this weekend at a special event.

The OCP lays out how Abbotsford will grow to 200,000 residents and envisions a more compact city with specified urban and neighbourhood cores, along with a city centre built around South Fraser Way.

For three days beginning Friday, the plan, dubbed Abbotsforward, will be front and centre at a “pop-up park” in the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre parking lot. The event will include food trucks, live music and mini golf, and aims to increase awareness of the OCP and give the public a chance to add their two cents.

The pop-up park runs Friday from 1 to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
