Police and fire rescue service hold Heroes Program

Program open to kids on the wait list for a Big Brother or Sister

The Abbotsford Police Department and Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service partnered this week with Big Brothers and Big Sisters to provide a Heroes Program for children aged seven to 15.

The partnership ran from Wednesday to Friday.

The majority of the participating children are on the waitlist for a Big Brother or Sister, and this initiative allowed them to have positive interactions with adult role models and to participate in a variety of fun activities.

The Abbotsford Police Community Policing Office served as home base for the program but most of the activities took place outdoors in parks and at other destination locations in the Fraser Valley.
