PHOTOS: Wildlife Festival debuts in Abbotsford

Event held June 14 to 16 provided up-close look at all kinds of creatures

The Wildlife Festival debuted at the Ag-Rec Building in Abbotsford from June 14 to 16.

The event included stage shows, educational displays and up-close encounters with animals. Some of the exhibits included sloths, ferrets, snakes, porcupines, kangaroos, turtles, frogs, lizards, pigs, sugar gliders and more.

The festival is associated with Cobb’s Exotic Animal Rescue, a non-profit division of the Calgary-based Cobb’s Adventure Park.

Many of the animals featured at the event are rescues from homes that could no longer care for them.

Others have been obtained from ethical breeders for educational purposes. Money raised from the festival goes back to the care and support of the animals.
