An Abbotsford man is the lone B.C. cyclist taking part in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride.

Bob Ahuja will join 27 other riders as they cycle from Vancouver to Halifax as part of the ride in September. The riders are split into two teams who will take turns cycling. Each individual will ride approximately 2,500 kilometres.

Ahuja was at the Willowbrook Sears on July 13, and raised $191.30.

The Sears location also held a barbecue fundraiser the following week and donated $460 to Ahuja’s fundraising efforts as each rider needs to raise $25,000. The store has another staff fundrasier planned for today (Thursday) with the proceeds again going to Ahuja's cause.
