Abbotsford News summer intern Baneet Braich is currently in China attending the BIEE (Beijing International Education Exchange) Summer Camp from July 13 to 23. This is the second submission from her trip:

My time so far in China has been filled with meeting many students from around the world.

In my previous video, I shared landing in Beijing and visiting the Olympic park for the opening ceremony of the BIEE Summer Camp. I must say it has not been easy adjusting here but it has been interesting to see the daily culture here whether it be just observing the streets or how people greet each other ("Ni hao").

I was looking forward to seeing the Great Wall and now you can see it with me. I must say it is a workout. You definitely begin to feel the incline just as you start, and coming down it is very steep.

It was remarkable to climb and realize that Chinese Guards once stood exactly where I walked. It is said that a man in China is not a true man until he climbs this wall so I must say as a young woman I have accomplished that!

Stay tuned for more footage of museums, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven.
