A free event honouring dads takes place on Father’s Day – Sunday, June 17 – in Abbotsford.

Celebrating Dads runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Centennial Park at Mill Lake (on Emerson Street next to the water park).

Activities include face painting, bouncy castles, mini golf, obstacle courses, sports, carnival games, crafts, magicians, prizes, and more.

Jeff McLean, facilitator of several programs for dads and their children through Abbotsford Community Services (ACS), said the city is recognized as a leader in Canada for its support and encouragement of fathers.

“For many dads it can be hard to find places to go to have some fun with their children.

“We’ve got some great programs here in Abbotsford and we’re looking forward to Celebrating Dads,” he said.

This event is hosted by ACS, the Abbotsford Early Childhood Committee, Central Abbotsford Community School and Abbotsford Parks, Recreation and Culture.
