A support group starts in Abbotsford on Sept. 24 for caregivers of young people involved with substance use.
The Impact Parent Merge Group runs every Tuesday from Sept. 24 to Nov. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The group meets at Impact Youth Substance Use Services, 33228 Walsh Ave.
Topics covered include: understanding substance use, adolescent development, boundaries and crisis management.
Those interested in joining the group are asked to register through Michelle at 604-853-1766 or impactmichelle@telus.net.
A counsellor arranges a time to meet with individual participants ahead of the start date.
Monthly follow-up support will be offered to those who complete the seven-week program.
