Organizers of the annual Crystal Gala are hoping the community will jump on board and help them promote the colour pink across the city.
The first annual Tie One On campaign in support of breast cancer awareness is in full swing with special pink ties available for purchase.
The ties cost $20 and are available from any member of the Crystal Gala committee or by calling 604-853-5463.
Once a tie has been purchased, the purchaser is encouraged to wear it proudly.
Other options are to resell the ties and donate the money back to the Crystal Gala Foundation, auction the tie to the highest bidder or fundraise any way you can.
In order to promote the campaign, the person who raises the most money for the cause will win an Ipad Mini.
The 2013 Crystal Gala Committee includes Gerri Charles (chair), Dorothy Dyck, Dixie Jacobson, Tanya Curtis, Aman Gill, Brittany Manulak, Chris Franklin, Jessica Germaine, Sandy Ellis, Susan Bubra and Amanda Rushton.
This year’s Crystal Gala takes place on Oct. 19 and is already sold out.
