The Operation Red Nose safe-ride service returns to Abbotsford for the 2024 holiday season, and volunteers are now needed.
The program is being hosted by the Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association with support from the Abbotsford Police Department.
The service involves having a team of three Operation Red Nose volunteers getting people home safely. One drives your vehicle, a second navigates and a third follows in an escort vehicle to pick up the two volunteers once they drop you off.
Volunteers are needed in Abbotsford for all three roles, as well as to answer incoming calls from the public wishing to use the service.
Those interested can visit arjaa.org/operation-red-nose for more information and to fill out an application form.
Operation Red Nose runs in Abbotsford throughout December. Details will be released Nov. 13 for the specific dates that the service will be available.
