An Abbotsford restaurant recently raised more than $1,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

The site was among 23 Noodlebox locations that raised a total of $27,000 for the CMHA on Sept. 15.

Half of the restaurants’ proceeds on that day went to the CMHA, which Noodlebox has supported since 2014.

The chain’s day to give back is held every September, and in the previous six years raised more than $100,000.

The money donated to the CMHA goes towards their Bounce Back program, their National Suicide Prevention program and other services.

“We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out and supported our event this year,” said Dustin May, CEO of Noodlebox Canada.

“Noodlebox has deep roots with the CMHA, as one of our original franchisees was closely involved with the Victoria chapter. We are proud to support the great work they do. Now more than ever, supporting mental health is important as we continue to navigate this pandemic.”

Noodlebox began as a small food cart in Victoria in 2001 and now has 23 locations in B.C. and Alberta.

The Abbotsford location is at 2455 West Railway St.
