People peruse books for sale at the annual Chilliwack Rotary Book Sale on opening day, Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.

Chilliwack's biggest book sale fundraiser brought in more than $100,000 over seven days.

The annual Chilliwack Rotary Book Sale ran Oct. 27 to Nov. 2 at Chilliwack Heritage Park with 80,000 bargain-priced books to choose from.

"This year’s total for the week long sale is $106,054.61," said book sale chairperson Roberta Zdril.

Also for sale at the event were CDs, DVDs, records and puzzles.

The Rotary Book Sale has been running since 1984. Every year, the week-long fundraiser brings in thousands of dollars for community and international projects.

In 2020, the Rotary Club of Chilliwack started up a one-day outdoor book sale in the summertime to supplement the indoor seven-day sale in the fall. This year's one-day sale on Aug. 24 brought in more than $17,000.
