Yale Secondary in Abbotsford had more than 100 donors attend its second annual blood drive on Dec. 5.

The event was organized by the graduating class of 2020, and many Grade 12s donated their blood.

During the winter months, there is often a decrease across the country in the number of blood donations, due to harsh weather conditions. Without enough blood, lifesaving medical treatments are postponed.

One blood donation can potentially save up to three lives.

Upcoming blood drives in Abbotsford take place Tuesday, Dec. 31 at Garden Park Tower (2825 Clearbrook Rd.) and Saturday, Jan. 4 at Cascade Community Church (35190 DeLair Rd.).
