Military motorcycle relay to pass through Abbotsford

Barbecue will be held at the Legion on West Railway

The Royal Canadian Legion is holding a special barbecue in Abbotsford on Aug. 3 in support of the Military Police National Motorcycle Relay Ride.

The sixth annual ride is a charity event that spans 10,000 km across the country, starting in Victoria and ending in Gander, Nfld. The ride will visit all of the major military establishments across Canada.

In the past five years the ride has raised more than $200,000 for children’s charities, including the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada and the Military Police Fund for Blind Children.

The barbecue will feature live music and run from noon to 3 p.m., and attendees can greet riders as they pass through. The cost is $10 per person at the Legion (2513 West Railway).
