Three organizations in Abbotsford and Mission will receive a total of $25,000 from the Lowe’s Canada Heroes Campaign.

Rona Abbotsford has donated $5,600 to the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre, while Lowe’s Abbotsford contributed $14,500 to SARA for Women. Rona Fraser Valley in Mission donated $5,600 to Isthmus Canada (formerly know as Blessings in a Backpack Canada).

The funds are part of a total $2.1 million raised across Canada for more than 235 non-profit organizations and public schools.

This year, for the first time, 47 stores affiliated with the Rona banner and five distribution centres in the network joined Lowe’s, Rona, and Réno-Dépôt corporate stores in the campaign.

The funds were raised throughout September. As in the past, half of the amount raised was matched by Lowe’s Canada, up to a maximum of $2,000 per store or distribution centre.

This year, Lowe’s Canada also provided an additional $800,000, which was allocated in proportion to the sums raised by participating sites.

Also as part of the campaign, many store associates will volunteer with their partner organizations over the coming months.

Teams have 12 months to carry out volunteer activities as part of the 2020 Lowe’s Canada Heroes campaign, all in accordance with health guidelines in effect across the country.
