The Chalmers sisters organized a lemonade stand on Wednesday to raise money for BC Children's Hospital and collect items for the food bank.

Kiana, 7, said there were a lot of things they wanted to do this summer and a lemonade stand was one of them. On Wednesday they were selling limeade for 25 cents a glass.

The girls were also giving out free homemade cookies to anyone who left a donation for the food bank.

"We like baking," said Megan, 9.

"And we like cookies," added Kiana, whose sisters Jillian, 4, and Johanna, 2, and mother Corinne were there helping with the stand.

The girls have raised more than $60, but are setting a goal to raise about $300 for the children's hospital, as some of their friends at Auguston Traditional school go to the hospital.

They will be out again on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at Dorset Place off of Old Clayburn Road.
