The Jubilee Park Lawn Bowling Club kicked off its summer season on Wednesday, and welcomes players of all ages to join in the fun.

The lawn bowling club has been in operation for 78 years, since 1935.

The fee to play is $40 a year and entitles a person to bowl four days a week – Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, if weather permits.

The bowling times are at 1:30 p.m. in May and September, and 7 p.m. in June, July and August. Bowlers should arrive 15 minutes before the start time so they can be placed on a team. Teams are made from the members who show up, and there is no need to cancel if you cannot arrive.

Free lawn bowling lessons are held Wednesday morning in May and June at 10 a.m., starting on May 15.

Bowls are available for rental for $1 per session.
