The Fraser Valley Down Syndrome Society's Walk for Awareness raised about $10,000 for the non-profit Saturday at Mill Lake Park.
About 325 people took part in the walk and other events, Sylvie Fraser said. The money will go toward the cost of therapies, art and sport programs, technology and special camps. The society also funds workshops, music therapy, parent support evenings, speakers and a lending library of books for parents of children with Down syndrome.
